NYC Grand Central Terminal Where Soviet Sputnik Is Still a Ghostly Poltergeist

Hidden in plain sight high above the main concourse of Grand Central Terminal situated near the constellation of Pisces sits a ghostly reminder that back on Oct 4, 1957 the Soviets launched Sputnik 1 into the heavens. Could an event that happened 59 years ago still be holding the attention of some lingering spirited spectators? Maybe so says NYC's Ghost Doctors.

New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/04/2016 -- The race between the former Soviet Union and the United States to put a satellite in orbit around our planet launched the beginning of the space race back in 1957. But the Soviets were winning this race with the imminent launch of Sputnik 1 and it seems that NYC's Grand Central Terminal played a crucial role to help lift the spirits of Americans in this discouraging set back. And now it seems that a few patriotic "spirits" may still be rooting for team USA to this day according to the Ghost Doctors (aka Dr. Pete and Dr. Stew) noted paranormal investigators and licensed NYC tour guides.

"Back in July of 1957, a U.S. Redstone missile was installed in the main concourse of Grand Central Terminal," says Dr. Pete. "This missile was a symbol not only for Americans but for people around the globe, that the U.S. had the right stuff to launch a satellite into orbit and was more than able to compete with any country in the world in technological prowess."

The Ghost Doctors who lead groups of amateur ghost hunters through some of New York's most iconic locations including Grand Central Terminal, always stress the point that a thorough study of the historical past is a vital element for any ghost hunt.

"Besides teaching the basics of ghost hunting, which includes the use of a variety of electronic equipment, we always recount the historical back stories as sort of a road map for our ghost hunting adventures," says Dr. Stew.

And in the case of Grand Central the Ghost Doctors have surely done their homework. Pointing out a whole host of historical features that still looms brightly from a time long gone -- which includes the Redstone missile that once stood proudly in this iconic terminal.

"The Redstone missile when it was erected in the main concourse was secured to the ceiling by guy- wires. In fact, we always point out the actual hole which was cut into the terminal's zodiac ceiling that secured the cables...which is in the vicinity of the constellation of Pisces," says Dr. Stew.

So now included on the Ghost Doctors ghost hunting agenda of Grand Central Terminal is a visit to the exact spot where this mighty missile once stood 59 years ago, which definitely makes for one ghostly blast from the past!
