Colorado Springs, CO -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/12/2014 -- Calling all aspiring female playwrights! Now is your chance to get your work seen! The 9th Annual Six Women Playwriting Festival is currently calling for playwright submissions. The festival will be held during the first three weeks in April, 2015, and will feature new, unpublished plays from female playwrights.

The theme of the 9th Annual Six Women Playwriting Festival is “Signs, Omens, & Fortune Cookies, Hints of Things to Come.” The festival will be held the weekends of April 9, April 16, and April 23, 2015 at the Millibo Art Theatre in Colorado Springs.

To be considered for selection, playwrights must enter the call for playwright submissions before Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Women who are at least sixteen years old are welcome to enter. Only one unpublished, never-before professionally produced play per playwright is accepted. Six plays will be chosen, and all playwrights will be notified in February 2015. The winners will receive cash awards, and each play will be performed during the Six Women Playwriting Festival in April, 2015!
