Norristown, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/30/2017 -- The wildest craft beer festival in Montgomery County returns to Elmwood Park Zoo for its tenth year. Oktoberfest will feature more than 40 breweries sampling their finest beers, wines, and ciders. As a unique Philadelphia event venue, the zoo hosts the festival this year on Saturday, September 9, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Elmwood Park Zoo's Oktoberfest gives guests a chance to explore Philadelphia's powerful craft beer culture with selections from local breweries such as Troegs, Evil Genius, Victory, and Prism. In addition to the local brews on tap, national and international breweries will be in attendance of the event, which will give guests a chance to travel the world through their various selections.
Guests of Oktoberfest will also be able to enjoy the party games placed throughout the zoo. Mechanical bull rides are available to people who are brave enough for the challenge.
Food will be plentiful, as the zoo's Treetop Café, Sarape's On-The-Go, and Petrucci's Ice Cream Parlor will be open for guests' indulgence.
Guests will also have opportunities to hand feed the zoo's bison and giraffes. Tickets to each of the feedings will be available for purchase at the event.
General Admission tickets to Oktoberfest are currently available for $49 per person, $45 per zoo member. Early admission tickets, which grant access to the event at 12:00 p.m., are available for $69 per person, $65 per zoo member. All of the guests will receive a complimentary tasting glass with each ticket that's purchased.

Oktoberfest is a 21-and-over event only. The zoo will be closed to regular admission on September 9.
