Tel Aviv, Israel -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/02/2014 -- Omer Arad, a 31-year-old singer-songwriter and filmmaker from Tel Aviv, wants to pay tribute to one of his favorite musical performers – in a very unique way.
He wants to record and dedicate an entire album to her.
The object of Arad’s affections is Bjork, a performing songwriter, pop star and occasional actress from Iceland who has achieved enormous international success. She has recorded 30 singles that have cracked the Top 40 on pop charts around the world, with 22 Top 40 hits in the United Kingdom.
“I first discovered Bjork when I was 19 years old,” recalled Arad. “She had this dreamy passion, a powerful and yet childlike quality. It was then that I fell in love with her."
“I started to listen to her albums and watch her films. I wrote lyric songs for her, as an expression of love.”
Arad wants to put together a collection of these songs in a new album that would be distributed to radio stations all over the world. He would promote the album by filming song videos for YouTube and Facebook.
The original songs and poems were in Hebrew. “I decided to work on new poems for Bjork in English and combine them with some of the old tunes that I had written when I was a teenager as well as some recent original songs,” Arad said.
“I’ll promote them with media sites that help to bring viewers and comments. I really want to see what people have to say about these new songs.”

Donations of any amount are welcome. “If you are a fan of Bjork, please support this project,” he said. “It will also help me to accomplish my dream: to meet Bjork one day, and to do something artistic with her like a mutual song, performance, and even offer her a role on one of my films.”
