A graduate of The New England College of Optometry, Dr. Battaglia-Capogna worked as a Research Analyst at the State University of New York College of Optometry and published many papers on optic nerve neuropathies and retinal lesions before pursuing her career as an optometrist. She studied the effective use of various optometric technologies, with comprehensive research into the usefulness of the Optomap retinal exam. As an affiliate doctor with TLC Laser Center in Garden City, NY, Dr. Battaglia-Capogna provides pre and post-operative care for LASIK/PRK vision correction surgeries. Her specialties also include contact lens fittings for hard-to-fit vision conditions, including advanced, rigid GP lenses, multifocal contacts and soft lenses for astigmatism. Beth Burton, licensed New York State Ophthalmic Dispenser, returned recently to work at Optix Family Eyecare after a 14-year pause from this efficient, family-friendly office.
