Pacific Angler Charters Announces Plans for 4th Annual Vancouver Chinook Classic

Company's sponsorship will provide much-needed support for top fishing derby, with high Chinook activity promising exciting catch-and-release fishing for entrants, Pacific Angler Charters reports

Vancouver, BC -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/11/2015 -- Pacific Angler Charters, a top Vancouver Fishing Charter company, announced its sponsorship of and plans for the upcoming, fourth annual Vancouver Chinook Classic Catch and Release Derby. A headline sponsor, Pacific Angler Charters will provide valuable financial and other support for this year's event, proceeds from which will benefit the Capilano Little Ones School and the Pacific Salmon Foundation. The Vancouver Chinook Classic is the area's richest catch-and-release fishing derby, and this year's event will be held on Aug. 29 and 30 and based out of the Pacific Gateway Hotel in Richmond.

"Fishing for Chinook is one of the most exciting things to do in the Vancouver area," Pacific Angler Charters owner Jason Tonelli, "That means the upcoming Vancouver Chinook Classic is sure to be an unforgettable event, just like its predecessors. We're proud to sponsor this amazing catch-and-release derby and look forward to two days of great fishing and fund-raising for a pair of truly worthy charities."

The largest Pacific salmon of all, Chinook regularly grow to forty pounds or more, with the world-record sport-fishing catch tipping the scales at nearly 100 pounds. Although their numbers in the Vancouver area are lower than historically, the local populations remain healthy enough that catch-and-release fishing targeting Chinook is a staple of vancouver salmon fishing charters.

Now coming up on its fourth annual installment, the Vancouver Chinook Classic Catch and Release Derby has proved to be one of the region's most exciting fishing events of all. With a top prize of $25,000 to be awarded for the largest Chinook caught and released this year, the Derby is the richest fishing tournament of its kind in the entire Vancouver area. Proceeds from this year's event will benefit the Capilano Little Ones School of the Squamish Nation, as well as the Pacific Salmon Foundation conservation group, with organizers expecting to easily top the $10,000 that last year's Derby generated.

As a headline sponsor for the upcoming Derby, Pacific Angler Charters will provide generous financial support and other much-needed help. With the Vancouver area's most experienced captains and guides, Pacific Angler Charters is a leading vancouver fishing trip company, providing full-service outings that allow guests to experience the thrill of pursuing the five Pacific salmon species to be found in the region.

Those interested in learning more about Pacific Angler Charters or the upcoming Vancouver Chinook Classic can do so at the company's website. Pacific Angler Charters' regular, widely read reports on Vancouver-area fishing there are a staple of anglers throughout the region. The Aug. 7 update includes further information about the Vancouver Chinook Classic, and weekly updates to come will provide a better idea as to what to expect in terms of Chinook fishing on the days of the Derby.
