Palmer Trinity School Students Run Toy Drive to Benefit MUJER Families

This December, more than 600 gifts were collected by the students, faculty and staff at Palmer Trinity School (PTS) to benefit the families served by MUJER (Mujeres Unidas en Justicia, Educación y Reforma). MUJER is a nonprofit community-based social services organization that provides one-stop domestic violence and certified sexual assault center services in Homestead, Florida. The Spanish Honor Society at PTS led the toy drive for the second year in a row.

Palmetto Bay, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/19/2016 -- MUJER's mission is to provide a trusting environment that promotes emotional wellness and stability by empowering individuals through advocacy, direct response to domestic and sexual abuse, and support services that strengthen families.

Susi Cetta, Director of Student Activities said: "Our school community is filled with amazing and very generous people. We are so fortunate to have a community where service is a number-one priority. Giving these gifts help our students understand the impact they are making in the lives of these children and families."

Although giving is a year-round priority at Palmer Trinity, the students, faculty and staff are especially keen on sharing the joy of the holiday season with the children and families at MUJER. PTS students also look forward to attending MUJER's upcoming holiday party where they will be serving food, doing face painting, and helping Santa distribute gifts.
