Pastor Encourages Christians to Embrace a Barbarian Mindset

Enumclaw, WA -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/12/2018 -- Frustrated by bureaucracy within the church and hindered by rules, expectations, and demands that argued against the Lord's call in his life, Dan Swaningson prayed for direction. The answer to that prayer freed him to follow Jesus with his whole heart—without apology.

In his new book, Barbarians in the Kingdom, Dan shares his story, explaining what it means to be a barbarian in God's Kingdom and guiding readers to

- experience freedom in Christ,

- live passionately for God's Kingdom,

- inhabit a shameless sense of self-worth,

- develop strength of character, and

- abide in hope.

Urging readers to move forward bravely in obedience, Swaningson stresses ultimate accountability to the leadership of the Lord. Written for those who long to break free from the shackles of religion and its institutions, this book illustrates how upholding a simplicity of purpose, singularity of mission, and determination of spirit allows believers to become effective warriors for Christ.
