PennFab Announces Their Work on Rebar Cages in January

Morrisville, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/25/2018 -- This month, PennFab, one of the leading steel manufacturers in Pennsylvania, is working on the assembly of rebar cages at their new facility.

The company often fabricates rebar cages that are used for projects within the tri-state area. Their new 240,000 square foot facility at 20 Steel Road South in Morrisville, PA, allows PennFab the room to fabricate multiple rebar cages at a time. Although rarely seen by the public, rebar cages provide the foundation for the assembly of important structures such as signal bridges, highway signs, catenary poles, and other miscellaneous steel structures.

Rebar cages, which are formed in the shape of a cylinder, typically several feet in diameter, are placed into drilled holes, typically within a steel caisson to keep the hole from caving in. The holes are then are filled in with concrete, along with anchor rods to create a stable foundation for mounting the steel structures. Rebar cages are used to reinforce the concrete and increase the tensile strength. The cages are fabricated using custom templates that are based on the cage size and requirements necessary for the job at hand. PennFab regularly supplies all components needed for foundations including rebar cages, caissons, anchors rods, embedment plates, and templates.

For 35 years, PennFab has been a company recognized for its strengths in the industries of manufacturing, transportation, and railroads. As a steel fabricator in Pennsylvania, the company is dedicated to providing better, more structurally sound infrastructure. The fabrication of rebar cages is one way PennFab is able to contribute to the rebuilding of America's infrastructure. They are a company that constantly strives to make their next project better than their last, with an emphasis on safety and quality.
