UK author, John James Newton, has announced the publication of his book ‘Nurture’, written to provide support to individuals who are managing people for the first time.
London, UK -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/13/2014 -- The business book, the first written by marketing director John James Newton, features a series of short chapters for first-time managers dealing with topics such as one-to-one staff coaching, employee empowerment, recruitment and performance management.
‘Nurture’ draws on John’s experience working for, and managing at companies including Carlton Television, Yahoo! and Flextech Television in a variety of marketing and management roles.
Speaking about the book’s launch, the author said: “Too many books on people management rely on complex theories or models, which can be difficult for the first-time line manager to apply.
“‘Nurture’ is written in simple language, with actionable tips, to give new managers a book that they can pick up and immediately apply to the challenges they will face”.
The management book also features companion illustrations from Leeds-based artist Jake Lava, and a cover design by Stafford graphic design agency, Kablooie Creative.
Readers are encouraged to try-before-they-buy by downloading a selection of tips from the book directly from nurturebook.com.
‘Nurture’ is available both as a printed hardback book, with a recommended retail price of £13.99, and an Amazon Kindle ebook, priced at £4.99.
The author of ‘Nurture’ has previously edited two books on digital marketing, and regularly reviews business books for The Marketing Society.
