"This promotion is a way for us to give back to the city and its many nearby towns in both Pennsylvania and South Jersey," Pete Ciarrocchi said. "We'll have our people down there on the Expressway, too -- we'll be the ones with the free food and checkered flags," he added.
Free Toll Friday runs 5pm to 6pm on Friday, May 26, 2017. Philadelphia and South Jersey motorists who plan to kick off the summer down the shore are encouraged to do so via the Farley Toll Plaza on the Atlantic City Expressway, where Pete Ciarrocchi and his team will be picking up the bill. Furthermore, the Chickie's & Pete's team will be handing out free Crabfries®, Herr's Potato chips will have samples of their Crabfries® chips on hand, and there will be activities for children, such as face-painting, ventriloquism, and free ice cream from Hershey's. 94.1 WIP will also be broadcasting live from the rest stop, and the Philadelphia Soul cheerleaders will be there signing autographs.
"There are a lot of different organizations involved in this," Pete Ciarrocchi said about Free Toll Friday. "It's not just Chickie' & Pete's, we also partnered with the Veterans Multi-Service Center of Philadelphia, who will bring their Touch-A-Truck exhibit, which gives children the chance to see military vehicles and fire trucks up close," he added.
Lastly, it is of the utmost importance to Pete Ciarrocchi and his team that everyone remembers what Memorial Day is about: appreciating veterans who have sacrificed for the sake of their country's freedom. In keeping with that, Chickie's & Pete's Crab House and Sports bar will be donating money to the Veterans Multi-Service Center to show gratitude to the organization for their tireless efforts to help veterans in need.
