The U.S. throws away billions of batteries a year. In aviation, a single airline at a major airport will consume thousands of batteries a year. With funding help, Photonic Designs can revolutionize the way this industry uses batteries and make an impact on a global scale.
It's a flashlight with a cone on the end used by all sorts of industries like police, fire, aviation, and military to guide and direct traffic at night. These flashlights take two C cell batteries to work and are used every day. This old design consumes a huge amount of batteries, which allows moisture and water to enter the wands and corrode the insides until they fail. This created a cyclical problem.
Photonic Designs has created a completely new patent pending board design that actively manages and distributes power in the most efficient way possible. This drastically reduced the energy needed to do the same job, which enabled to move to an on-board power supply that lasts years using just two non-rechargeable AA's.
Currently Photonic Designs is primed and ready to start production. The pledge money contributed helps them purchase the plastic injection molds, create an inventory of boards to supply their Kickstarter pledges and send out additional test units to other airports.
