Pinpoint Mounts Announces Opening of Two New Distribution Centers to Lower Cost, Improve Shipping Times

Knoxville, TN -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/18/2014 -- Pinpoint Mounts has announced that the opening of two new distribution centers will soon help the Tennessee-based company better serve its customers in the Southwestern United States and across the remainder of the lower 48 states.

Located in Southern California, the first distribution center is scheduled to start moving product by the end of February. To get started in this strategic location, Pinpoint Mounts teamed up with another private company. The seller of mounting brackets will neither operate nor own this distribution center.

Conversely, Pinpoint Marketing, the marketing arm of the parent Pinpoint Mounts, will own and run the second distribution center. Once it opens in the third quarter of this year, the center in Houston, Texas will team up with the California center to drastically reduce delivery time of Pinpoint Mounts products in California, Texas and their surrounding states. A Pinpoint Mounts spokesperson said that a delivery that currently takes up to four days in the Southwestern United States will soon take a single day, while, nationwide, all deliveries will soon take no more than three days.

A company spokesperson explained that the decision to keep stock in remote distribution centers came about as a way to combat delivery costs that have been increasing by five percent a year and to reduce delivery times. The spokesperson added that a pilot program running out of California warehouse found that not only did distributing product out of distant centers not increase costs it actually cut costs while concurrently increasing the speed of shipping product to the customer. “It was a great result,” the spokesperson said.
