Playa Bejuca: Just Enough off-the-Beaten Path

Playa Bejuca is an area uniquely situated and primed for further development.

Orosi Valley, Costa Rica -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/23/2015 -- Many investors try to anticipate where growth is likely to occur and then buy before the boom so that they can purchase land at incredibly low prices. The principle is to buy low and sell high -- similar to how one should deal with stocks. One area of Costa Rica that is primed for development is the Central Pacific coastal region. There are a number of tourist hotspots like Jacó and Quépos (where the Manuel Antonio National Park resides), and right smack in the middle of them are pristine beaches and off-the-beaten path towns where surfing and agriculture rule.

Many people looking to get away and enjoy the wonders of Costa Rica want to experience the "pura vida", or pure life. That experience only happens in quiet locations surrounded by nature. This is getting more and more difficult to find in those two tourist hotspots.

On the other hand, it is also nice to be near locations that provide plenty of shopping, eating, and entertainment (plus, all important amenities like health centers and banks). Playa Bejuca is a small, quiet town just off the South Pacific Highway equidistant from both Jacó and Quépos. Thirty minutes north or south will take you to the bustling tourist towns.

This means that Playa Bejuca, a 3 mile stretch of chocolate sand beach so off-the-beaten path that you could spend a day playing in the surf without meeting another person, is a prime location for investment. It's undeveloped enough that the prices will be right, but close enough to developed areas to still be amenable to modern needs.

There are currently three beachfront concession lots available for the right buyer:

Playa Bejuca Beachfront Lot #1: This lot is 1/4 acre and is being sold for $90,000. It's a level lot, only steps from the ocean. It has electricity, telephone, and water from the municipality.

Playa Bejuca Beachfront Lot #2: This lot is 8,600 sq. ft. and is also level. All the amenities referenced above run to the property. Also, included on the lot is the beginnings of a two-story, two bed, two and a half bath home with an in-ground swimming pool. The house can be finished or can be easily demolished to accommodate your dream home. This lot is being sold for $140,000.

Playa Bejuca Beachfront Lot #3: Just as with the other lots, this one is also level and has access to amenities like water, electricity, and phone. This lot has a partially built B&B with 8 units (4 up, 4 down) each containing a bedroom and bath. The construction can be finished or demolished to make room for your dream home. There is also a separate building that was going to be a kitchen with dining area outside that would act as restaurant.

Playa Bejuca Beachfront Lot #4: Unlike the other three lots, this corner lot hasn't yet been deeded as a concession property. That would need to be done prior to building. The exception to this is if Lot #3 and #4 were purchased together with lot #3 serving as a Bed & Breakfast and lot #4 could then be used as parking and/or gardens with no need to apply for concession. It has electricity and water running to the property, a spectacular beach view, and is also a level lot. The seller is asking $60,000.
