Pro Magnus: Sports Enterprise Innovation

Kickstarter push will fund soccer training aid

London, UK -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/15/2014 -- Paul John Gainford got the inside knowledge on Magnus force, a technique that uses the curling action of a ball to gain scoring accuracy. What his curiosity about soccer players who used curving of a ball told him is that a person can use the ball spin and body positioning to their advantage, and then advance to having better control over where they kick the ball. The self-employed builder grew up around soccer players who are now professionals in the sport. He thought an innovation that teaches soccer ball handling strategies would help players perfect their kicking performance. Gainford used his new-found knowledge to develop the Pro Magnus, obtained a patent on the product, and is now ready to launch it.

Tens of thousands follow him on twitter@promagnus, and if he has his way, the world will soon know about his innovation.

The bottom line: A spinning ball will bend in the air, and by practicing kicking one just right, players can learn to deliver it where they want it to go. The Pro Magnus is like a spinning stand with different RPM settings.

By practicing kicking a ball from the Pro Magnus spinner, players can master the technique, maximizing their kick accuracy. The more they practice moulding themselves around the ball, the more they can put the aerodynamics of a spinning ball to use.

One delicious secret behind this is that the goalkeeper won't be able to predict the arrival point of the curling ball,so they don't know what area to protect.

As Gainford explains it, “This device will dramatically improve power, technique, body position and ultimately teach you to put phenomenal bend on the ball.”

With Pro Magnus – the answer is within the ball!

The success of this campaign will help bring the product from prototype to mass production.
