Professional Photographer Robert Stein Seeks Kickstarter Funding for His Photographic Mixed Media Series "Altared & Altered Walls"

This project is a key piece in Robert Stein’s “Altared & Altered Walls" series of photographic mixed media art works.

Fort Lauderdale, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/26/2014 -- Robert Stein has been working on this series for several years, starting with a piece based on his photos of Charleston, S.C. followed by a series based on an old stonewall shot in North Carolina. He has recently completed several pieces based on a small piece of a wall in the Wynwood art district in Miami. These works are “Altered” by combining photography, digital painting and acrylic painting with the architectural elements of surface projections and recesses. They are “Altared” by creating a space for the patron to connect with the piece by placing a token on the piece. This has led Robert to this current project to bring historically and spiritually significant walls to this work.

For over 300 years, prayer notes have been placed in the cracks of the "Wailing or Western wall" and today over a million notes are placed each year. Robert plans to bring his patron’s prayers to Jerusalem to place in the crevices of the “Wailing Wall” according to tradition and capture images of them in place for works in print and mixed media. If funded, he anticipates traveling to Jerusalem in September for the photography. The month of October will be devoted to editing and fulfilling the print requests and starting on the mixed media works. He hopes to complete all backers’ works by mid November.

This project will only be funded if at least $6,000 is pledged by Mon, Jul 21 2014 4:24 PM +05:30.
