Prominent Community Activist Rev. Jamila J. Woods to Deliver a Powerful Message at Dr. Rita Bailey-Roland's: I Am My Sister's Keeper

Local Event to Focus on Developing a Sound Mind, Body, and Soul as a Foundation to Help Those in Need

 

Lanham, MD -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/09/2018 -- Prominent mindfulness practitioner, Rev. Jamila J. Woods, to speak at Maryland event focusing on aligning mind, body, and soulful practices.

Rev. Woods is a vibrant and talented community spokesperson with over 30 years' experience as a Social Justice Activist and an outspoken member of the community who regularly reaches out to support those in need. Pastor and founder of Jabez Christian Community Church in White Plains, Maryland, her long list of credentials includes hosting the international radio broadcast, "Conversations on Faith and Mental Health" that reaches over 25,000 listeners.

The New Jersey native, teacher of the Gospel, Psalmist, and talented vocalist has traveled throughout the US, South Africa, Haiti, and Turkey sharing her music ministry, preaching, and teaching. Her music is on YouTube under "The Music Ministry of Jamila Jaye Woods" and includes recordings with the Howard Gospel Choir, Bishop Thomas Weeks Sr., and two solo recordings titled, "Can My Gown Be White Again?" and "The Balm." She has recently recorded a new single, "Giving Up is Not an Option," as a part of her Inspirational Music Series.

Reverend Woods holds a BA in Political Science, a Master's in Divinity from Howard University, and a Master's in Social Work from White Plains, Maryland. Her many certifications range from Domestic Violence Assessor to Anger Management Specialist.
