“Our unique global incident tracking and compliance solution gives companies a framework and template of steps to conducts risk assessments of their global footprint for Conflict Minerals audits among other regulatory assessments”said Mr. Gary Bahadur, Razient CEO.

The law mandates the use of an "independent private sector auditor" to conduct the audits. A reasonable audit would be the first step to determine if the company can on its own, using reasonable efforts and trustworthy information, make a reliable determination as to the source/origin of its tin, tantalum, tungsten and/or gold.

The statute specifies that the audits be "conducted in accordance with standards established by the Comptroller General of the United States, in accordance with rules promulgated by the Commission."

Razient provide a third party solution that an Auditor can use to assess the supply chain. Third party audits for conflict minerals supply chain traceability began in summer 2010 under the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC), a US-based electronics manufacturing trade association. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) published its Guidance on conflict minerals supply chain traceability.
