Guangzhou, Guangdong -- (SBWIRE) - 07/24/2011 -- The report Pyrethroids Survey in China newly-released by CCM, shows that China’s pyrethroid industry will keep a fast growth in the next few years, analyzing from the aspects of production, consumption, demand and future forecast, etc.
Pyrethroids, a kind of broad-spectrum, high-efficiency and low-toxicity insecticide, have witnessed a fast development in the past few years in China. With most widely used in cotton, fruit trees, vegetables, tea, etc., the domestic consumption of pyrethroids has soared since 2008 to 9,655 tonnes in 2010, up 21.3% over 2008. That means the domestic demand has a remarkable uptrend in the past three years.
With the capacity expansion and many new production lines' being launched in recent years, the total capacity of pyrethroid technical has reached 38,430t/a in 2011 in China, and its total output has hit 14,575 tonnes in 2010, accounting for around 20% of the total homemade insecticide technical output, compared with 13,048 tonnes in 2009 and 10,600 tonnes in 2008 respectively.
All these data show the increasing market potential of pyrethroids. It will be mainly driven by two factors: one is the rising application rates of most pyrethroids in agriculture field (mainly fruits, vegetables and melons, etc.) and non-crop use; the other is the increasing business opportunities of potential products such as tetramethrin and permethrin, which will be greatly promoted in the non-crop pesticide market in the future years.
Domestic demand for pyrethroids is predicted to reach 12,020 tonnes in 2015, which is estimated to worth USD605 million, with the CAGR of 4.48% and 6.20% respectively from 2010 to 2015. And capacity of pyrethroids by AI is predicted to hit 42,000t/a in 2015, with the CAGR of 3.13% from 2010 to 2015. Domestic output of pyrethroids by AI will reach 17,964 tonnes in 2015, with the CAGR of 4.27% from 2011 to 2015, driven by the expected large growth in export and stable growth in domestic demand. It is certain that the pyrethroid industry will drive the development of the whole insecticide industry and promote the upgrading of insecticide products in China.
