Two members of the isolated desert school’s administration agreed with him - the Director of Institutional Development and the Provost. Both, he says were fired for daring to suggest the school should expand in the direction DiUlus was promoting. With his own position in jeopardy and willing to risk everything he owned, Dr. DiUlus resigned and launched with the assistance of four fellow university employees and five former students, Global Academy Online, Inc. The Academy quickly became the premier provider of private-label online courses, faculty to teach them, and the purveyor of an online learning management system that has become the #1 system in the world.
What evolved was unheard of in academia. DiUlus and his colleagues loosed on higher education a patent qualified system that permits any college, university or eLearning organization, regardless of size, resources, or location, a unique ability to offer extensive online curriculum and instruction from a single source.
