The QR codes are scanned by smartphones and give the user a massive amount of information on that particular Nissan car.

Nissan had done a trial run with the QR codes starting back in June with the releases of the 2012 Altima and Sentra. Nissan saw plenty of feedback that consumers were scanning the QR codes and enjoying the experience. Customers were looking at multiple pages and taking action by requesting additional information. Customers found the information extremely important in aiding in their decision of purchasing a vehicle. Nissan was satisfied with user interaction and decided it was best for everyone to have the QR codes available for all remaining 2012 models as well.

The QR codes are square, black and white, two-dimensional barcodes that store tons of information. Smartphones can scan the QR codes and automatically download the information on to the device. Nissan’s QR codes include videos giving overviews of the car, dealer available inventory of that model, pictures of the car, allows users to request a quote, view incentives and much more.
