Purchase the Newly Released NetBalancer Pro 4.5 at a 35% Discount

Chisinau, Moldova -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/07/2011 -- SeriousBit has announced the release of NetBalancer Pro 4.5, a traffic-shaping tool for Windows with a long-awaited feature implemented at the request of its customers. Now, the user can set time periods, during which certain network priorities and limits apply. The company is offering a 35% discount coupon!

What is NetBalancer Pro? It´s a well-known application for controlling Internet traffic. Its success is based on the fact that it works with both limits and priorities, whereas the majority of similar solutions deal only with limits. Therefore, high-priority processes are allocated greater bandwidth than low-priority ones, with the result that users are able to combine surfing the Internet with downloading large multimedia files, without being affected by slow surfing speed. However, when high-priority applications are not using the network, the restrictions on low-priority processes are automatically removed or rebalanced. Thus, NetBalancer Pro does not require manual adjustment of traffic limits, as do many other traffic shaping programs.

The most interesting feature of the latest version, implemented at the request of many NetBalancer users, is the so-called ´traffic rules´ feature. What does this mean? These rules enable the user to define specific sets of parameters and to activate them for specific time periods. These parameters include priority level, upload/download limits, network adapter, process name, protocol, local IP, remote IP, local Port, remote Port and the time period during which the particular rule will be active. The time frame may include certain hours of the day, days of the week, days of the month and even whole months, if required. Thanks to this long-awaited feature, the user could, for instance, set low-priority for a torrent client during the daytime, while allowing it to go full-speed at night.

It should be noted that if a parameter is not specified, the rule will apply to all its possible values. For example, if the user specifies Protocol: ICMP, and sets the ´Blocked/Blocked´ priority value, then the ping command will be blocked for all network adapters and all processes, for all local and remote IP addresses and Ports. If a time frame is specified, then pinging will be blocked only at night or on Sundays, for example. These traffic rules can be applied in lots of useful ways, making NetBalancer an exceptionally flexible and convenient solution.
