Enhancement of Vitiligo

Vitiligo is a chronic form of de-pigmentation. It affects approximately 0.5% of the population and the cause is unknown.

London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/19/2011 -- Enhancing Vitiligo is a delicate semi permanent make up procedure and it is essential to know before proceeding how the de-pigmented areas have grown - and have they spread to the arms or legs. Only if the condition has remained stable over a three year period should enhancement be considered.

By decreasing the contrast between the normal skin and the de-pigmented skin permanent makeup or cosmedic enhancement can make the condition appear less noticeable, however care must be taken to ascertain that the condition is in its stable form as the skin stress caused by the procedure itself can cause the condition to spread.

The enhancement is achieved by stippling pigment in to the dermal layer of the skin. The procedure requires patience and usually several sessions to build up several flesh coloured pigments to gain the tonal appearance of skin. We would recommend a consultation to ascertain the history of the condition and if suitable carry out a pigment colour match test one month prior to treatment. Consultation costs £50. 1 Hour session costs £295.
