Allergy specialists use patient education handouts on their practice website to improve clinical care and patient satisfaction.

Berkeley, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/10/2011 -- The Allergy & Asthma Center of Stamford offers allergy patient handouts on its website to support the needs of its patients in Stamford, Connecticut. It understands the importance of patient education, to improve clinical care and patient satisfaction. The Allergy and Asthma Center of Stamford (http://www.stamfordallergy.com/Links.php) now provides its patients with convenient, online access to allergy resources on its own practice website.

Surveys have shown that U.S. adults frequently search online for patient handouts, but are frustrated by the large volume of health information they find from questionable sources.

A majority of health consumers state that they would prefer to get that information directly from their own doctor. Unfortunately, a majority of physicians report finding it difficult to provide education during an office visit and most medical practice websites lack health information. Allergy and Asthma Center of Stamford now joins other allergy practices that use the “From Your Doctor” service from Vivacare to manage their allergy patient handouts (http://www.vivacare.com).
