Following BMW’s refresh of the X5 in 2011, the 2012 has received only minor changes. The largest update this year includes the move of many previously optional features, like the navigation system on the xDrive50i, to standard.

Drivers can choose between three different engines. The base 3.0-liter turbocharged I-6 outputs 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, the twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 outputs 400 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, and the 3.0-liter I-6 uses clean diesel technology and produces 265 horsepower and 425 pound-feet of torque. All BMW X5s come standard with all-wheel drive.

The X5 continues to offer the comfort and luxury BMW consumers have come to expect. The interior uses high quality materials and the seats adjust for a wide range of body types. Adaptive xenon headlights, automatic windshield wipers, HD Radio with a 12-speaker sound system, and parking sensors all come standard on the base level X5 xDrive35i.
