Cabbage Soup Diet Results Releases New Weight Loss Diet

Weight loss blog unveils its new version of the cabbage soup diet.

New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/02/2011 -- Weight loss website Cabbage Soup Diet Results has released a new version of the popular weight loss plan for 2012. The new diet is designed to take advantage of recent scientific progress in the realm of nutrition. While still maintaining its core features, the new cabbage soup diet aims to make the diet more effective and pleasant than previous versions.

Site head and dietitian Jason Feldman discusses why he decided to work on a new incarnation of the cabbage soup diet: "Most of our visitors are fans of the old cabbage soup diet in general. However, we often receive requests from folks wishing that the program was slightly more effective. After all, these people are putting their life on hold for 7-days while they follow the diet, it's only fair that they get the most amount of weight loss possible over that time span. The new cabbage soup diet is supercharged for 2012 and should help dieters lose significantly more weight than before."

Feldman adds that the major changes to the cabbage soup diet to boost weight loss include adding more dietary protein and organic vegetables.

Feldman states that research coming out of top research universities, including Tufts and Harvard report that protein can help keep appetite at bay while boosting metabolism as the same time. According to Feldman, "Past cabbage soup diets were very low in protein. Depending on the version one used, they may only eat approximately 25 grams of protein per day -- far less than what's recommended for health. Also, protein has been shown in several clinical research studies to curb appetite --an important consideration for cabbage soup diet followers. One of the chief complains we receive about the cabbage soup diet is that folks are often hungry while on the diet, particularly in the final day or two. We think that adding healthy protein sources such as lean chicken breast, black beans, tofu and egg whites is the one-two combo that the cabbage soup diet has been missing."

Feldman adds that organic vegetables were added to increase the nutritional punch of the soup. He notes that organic vegetables typically contain more micronutrients, such as vitamins and minerals, than non-organic varieties.

The site's founder is quick to warn that -- like the old cabbage soup diet -- his version has not been rigorously tested in scientific studies. Also, he notes that would-be cabbage soup dieters should check in with their physician before embarking on this or any other weight loss diet plan.
