Avalon Hearing Aid Centers Announces “12 Days of Christmas” Hearing Mission

Sacramento, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/16/2011 -- Avalon Hearing will give 12 people in our community the gift of better hearing for Christmas

Christmas will come early this year for 12 people in the Sacramento area --- 12 people who are struggling with hearing loss and simply cannot afford to get the help they need at this time in their life.

Audiologist, Michael Kemp and Hearing Healthcare Provider, Betty Vosters-Kemp, are the grateful owners of Avalon Hearing Aid Centers, Inc.

They have decided to provide hearing aids and lifetime follow-up care to one person per day for each of the “12 Days of Christmas”.

All twelve recipients will come together for the official Hearing Mission on Monday, December 19th at 10:00am to be fitted with their hearing aids and receive the precious gift of better hearing before Christmas. No doubt there will be a lot of celebrating and tears of joy as these 12 hard-of-hearing people get reconnected to all the sweet sounds of life. Their friends and families will be celebrating with them!

People have qualified for their “gift of better hearing” for many reasons. One 19-year-old man with a severe hearing impairment had lost his old, broken hearing aids. He and his wife have a baby on the way and he wants to be able to hear his newborn child from the start. He was denied assistance for new hearing aids by an agency and almost slipped through the cracks into a quiet and frustrating world. But with the help of Avalon’s “12 Days of Christmas” Hearing Mission, he will have the joy of hearing his new baby!

Another recipient, a grandmother, has not heard the voices of her grandchildren for years. Because of her severe hearing loss, she has withdrawn from all family functions, and hardly comes out of her bedroom to be with her family. Her granddaughter wrote to Avalon Hearing explaining that her grandmother could not afford hearing aids, and did not qualify through government programs. Avalon listened and the matriarch of this family will be fitted with the “gift of hearing” on December 19th. This will impact an entire family!

These are just two of the heartwarming stories of the people who will receive the “gift of hearing” for the holiday season.

Owners, Michael and Betty Kemp, are committed to helping people hear the best they can for life and are truly grateful to play “Santa” for a second year through Avalon Hearing’s 12 Days of Christmas Hearing Mission.
