Telehouse Launch New German Data Centre in Frankfurt

London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/22/2012 -- Telehouse Holdings Ltd, a leading provider of global data centres and subsidiary of $42 billion telecommunications giant KDDI Corporation announced today it has opened a new German data centre. The 100 per cent share acquisition of one of Germany’s largest colocation providers Databurg GmbH extends the number of Telehouse data centres to 43 in 23 cities across the world adding over 67,000m2 of floor space to its global footprint.

The Tier 3 data centre has access to the DE-CIX, Europe’s second largest Internet exchange with over 400 ISP’s and carriers and located only 3km from Frankfurt city centre with vast power supply, ideal for international corporations with requirements for a well-connected point of presence in a strategic and highly secure location with scalable powering abilities. Telehouse Frankfurt will also be directly interconnected to the London, Paris and New York data centres via the Telehouse Global Interlink, an ultra-fast Ethernet IP connection and to the rest of the family of data centres via the KDDI Global network.

“By opening this facility, we enable our customers to expand into a key European market which is expected to see further growth over the coming years solidifying Frankfurt as a major data centre hub for multinational corporations as well as the growing domestic market. Our global reputation as one of the most trusted brands of premium data centres will be expanded to Germany by further investment in the current infrastructure of the Databurg facility, ensuring it reflects the Telehouse global set of standards in technological provision, green credentials and customer service”, said Tokuji Mitsui, Managing Director of Telehouse and KDDI Europe.

European Sales and Marketing Director Michelle Reid adds “As one of the most established brands of reliable data centres, Telehouse have built a reputation for instilling confidence in companies in the UK and worldwide to trust and partner with third party colocation providers for security, redundancy and back-up systems who have traditionally managed their data in-house. Telehouse currently support the European operations of some of Germany’s largest corporations who partner with us for our low latency network and for the quality of our facility management who are now looking for further expansions or new sites in their domestic market. In addition, we have seen encouraging demand from our non-German customers looking to expand specifically into Frankfurt with regards to traditional colocation and IT-on-demand services.”

Frankfurt is the latest data centre from Telehouse following its global expansion programme in recent years which have included New York, Hong Kong, South Africa and Istanbul. Telehouse have also expanded its portfolio of managed services in conjunction with its systems integration parent to provide end-to-end ICT solutions to a number of online gaming and media companies, financial institutions and medium-sized businesses.
