Study Tour to England by University of Bolton - RAK Campus

The students who participated in the Study Visit to England were honoured at a glittering ceremony in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Humaid bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director of the Ruler's Office of Ras Al Khaimah who was the Chief Guest at the function.

 

Dubai, Abu Dhabi -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/27/2012 -- A special presentation ceremony was organised to felicitate students from the University of Bolton, RAK Campus who went on a Study Visit to England which included where the group was given intensive academic sessions, workshops, lectures, industrial visits and also time to see sights of England including the capital London.

The students who participated in the Study Visit to England were honoured at a glittering ceremony in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Humaid bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director of the Ruler's Office of Ras Al Khaimah who was the Chief Guest at the function.

The presentation ceremony followed by an elaborate Barbecue dinner which saw the students share their England experience with both family and fellow students at the University of Bolton, RAK Campus. Many of the students who were part of the first visit want to go back again and be part of the next instalment of the Study Visit to England, perhaps as mentors for the newer students for whom it would be a veritable ‘first’

Says Farhan Khalid a Mechanical Engineering student ‘the Study Visit to England is definitely a great experience wherein I had the opportunity of a lifetime to interact with both students & staff at the home campus as well as get a feel of the English landscape’

As a result of the significant & perhaps a life changing experience that most of the Study Visit participants have had it has been decided that the Study Visit to England would now become part of the calendar and any student at the University of Bolton, RAK campus would be allowed to participate and gain this learning experience.

The next Study Tour to England would be scheduled during the Summer of the Academic Year 2011 -12 after 2012 Eid Ul-Fitr.

Dr. Zubair Hanslot, Provost, Off Campus Division adds that ‘the University of Bolton will encourage its students by providing similar such opportunities which he feels would be an integral part of the learning experience of any student at the RAK campus. He also added that the academic year 2011-12 will also see an increased engagement between staff & students at the two campuses which is in keeping with the university’s internationalisation agenda with the RAK campus being at its very heart’

Says Faisal Chaudhary who is a student on the Civil Engineering programme and the Vice President of the Bolton Students Union at the RAK campus ‘while I am reading a Civil Engineering programme the chance to organise the Study Visit to England under the guidance of the senior management team at the campus offered me the experience to understand the importance of time management, eye for detail and definitely enhanced my communication & negotiation skills’.

The Special Presentation ceremony saw students receiving their certificate of participation as well as provide ample photo opportunities for family & friends of the students receiving their awards and was concluded with eager conversations & high fives going around.
