In preliminary testing, the 2013 BMW X3 proved to have lower fuel consumption than ever before with new BMW TwinPower Turbo technology. The new TwinPower Turbo engine combines High Precision Direct Fuel Injection, Double-Vanos variable camshaft timing, VALVETRONIC variable valve timing, and twin-scroll turbocharging to extract a large amount of energy from the engine more efficiently.
In addition to efficiency, the 2013 BMW X3’s new TwinPower Turbo engine produces high performance. The twin-scroll turbocharging lets drivers enjoy the feel of 240 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. In just 6.5 seconds, the 2013 X3 can zoom from 0 to 60 mph. Livelier power and more responsive acceleration prove that the new TwinPower Turbo engine is the most powerful 4-cylinder engine in line with the BMW EfficientDynamics Strategy.
A new engine is not the only new addition to the 2013 BMW X3. The 2013 X3 will receive new standard, package, and optional equipment. Standard features will now include Auto Start Stop and Driving Dynamics Control with ECO PRO and the Power Tailgate. The Driver Assistance Package is also new to the X3 and includes Lane Departure Warning. An optional M Sport Package will be available to drivers as well, offering 19-inch wheels on the xDrive28i.
