Hillsborough, NJ -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/29/2012 -- The SDG Group, an innovation training firm, is proud to offer its Building Innovative Thinking Skills Workshop to companies focused developing competencies in innovation.

"Innovation does not have to be as elusive as it seems," says Michael Colucci, owner of The SDG Group. "People innovate constantly. It is a process that happens naturally. Where the disconnect comes is when companies explain innovation in ways that exclude people from that process. We want people to understand the process, and leverage it."

"Innovation," he continues, "is a discipline... it is a process... it can be learned and practiced. When a company provides the employee the tool to thinking innovatively they will act innovatively. Then the company can require it of people."

The Building Innovative Thinking Skills (BITS) Workshop is a half-day workshop for up to 15 people that focuses on the application of a single tool for innovative thinking. The SDG Group uses the half-day-one-tool approach to increase retention and allow time for in-workshop application.

Past participants have said things like, "Everyone tells me to think outside the box... this showed me how to." And, "The tool itself was most useful.  Definitely helped our team get to a good output faster and easier."
