Pierrot Gourmet at The Peninsula Chicago presents a new seasonal dinner menu

Chicago, IL -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/29/2012 -- This winter, Pierrot Gourmet invites diners to enjoy a new dinner menu focusing on traditional European comfort food. The neighborhood bistro and wine bar, located on the ground-level of The Peninsula Chicago luxury hotel (http://www.peninsula.com/Chicago/en/default.aspx), offers local residents an approachable and convenient way to enjoy a meal that will warm up the cool nights. Focusing on familiar favorites, the dinner menu, overseen by Chef de Cuisine Anthony Schmidt, features hearty dishes and unique European delights, including fantastic take-out options. Pierrot Gourmet integrates itself into the day-to-day lives of busy Chicagoans by offering a comforting, everyday bistro to enjoy seasonal items in the restaurant or at home.

The warm and cozy atmosphere of the café and wine bar is the perfect setting to tuck into a relaxing evening meal. Pierrot Gourmet also offers dinner-to-go (along with breakfast and lunch items), creating a seamless way for locals to enjoy the menu in the comfort of their own homes. New entrées such as cassoulet, a French bean stew with duck and sausage, flatbread with German knack, bacon, sauerkraut, gruyère and chives, broccoli ‘mac & cheese’ and chicken pot pie establish an exciting dining destination fit for friends, families, romantic dates and even business dinners. Recently added appetizers including deviled eggs for just US$ 1 each, jumbo lump crab cakes and spinach artichoke dip re-introduce diners to comfort food. Rotisserie chicken, priced at US$ 9, and seasonal gourmet side dishes starting at US$ 4, make for an affordable and delicious dinner, whether customers are dining in or on-the-go.

Chef Schmidt adds a variety of domestic artisan cheeses to this seasonal menu as well, working with several purveyors in the Midwest. New cheeses, which are offered by the piece, include Carr Valley Bill Blue Goat, Carr Valley Mobay, Carr Valley Six-Year Aged Cheddar (all from Wisconsin), Chatham Hudson Valley Camembert from New York, and Bonne-Bouche from Vermont Butter & Cheese Creamery in Vermont.
