According to research by Hitwise, the UKs leading online competitive intelligence service, more people searched for the term ‘voucher codes’ than they did ‘MPs expenses’ in the month of May, 2009.
Leeds, West Yorkshire -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/01/2009 -- May saw one of the biggest Political scandals in recent history, where the Daily Telegraph reported on MPs expenses, bringing to light many abuses in the system. Public anger levels rose to record highs as it emerged MPs had claimed public tax money for adult materials, duck islands and mortgages.
However, despite the outrage, it seems ultimately shoppers were more concerned with bagging a bargain.
