‘Bonnet Books’ by Beverly Lewis Promote Christian Ethics and Family Values

A schoolteacher and an accomplished musician before becoming a bestselling and award-winning author, Beverly Lewis specializes in adult fiction, youth fiction and picture books, concentrating on Christian living. Having grown up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the Amish subculture resonates throughout Lewis’s novels, where her ‘Bonnet Books’ promote Christian ethics and family values.

Brampton, Ontario -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/22/2009 -- When discussing her work, Lewis says that she bases her stories on the Amish tradition. Her own Amish background is where she first found inspiration for her stories. Lewis had noticed the Amish way of life, especially its Christian ethics and family values, and chose to incorporate those aspects into her novels. Her search for answers about the Amish people led her to develop her novels and find resolutions to the myths about the people, which were all not true, as she found through her research. As she and her stories grew, Lewis’s focus turned to the Amish people’s faith, their culture and their lifestyle.

Lewis recently published The Secret, the first book in her new series called “Seasons of Grace.” Published by Bethany House Publishers, a division of Baker Publishing Group, Lewis’s new novel is the story of the lives of “four wounded souls that begin to weave together like an Amish patchwork quilt, each discovering missing pieces of their life puzzles - and [witnessing] the merciful and loving hand of God.”
