Central, Hong Kong -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/17/2009 -- Bergstein Financial, a leading intermediary offering customized solutions in global cash, derivatives and related markets, has appointed Steven Johnson as managing director of Europe, effective immediately. As the senior leader of the region, he will be responsible for Bergstein Financial’s European growth strategy including oversight of its Zurich office. Mr. Johnson previously served as the company's global head of metal futures since 2000 based in New York.

Mr. Johnson has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Bergstein Financial, he spent several years at New York Financial group, most recently as head of equity sales for Europe.

Paul Brair, who had been serving as the senior leader of Europe on an interim basis, has resumed his role as managing director of Bergstein Financial's Asia-Pacific Operations.
