Closet Won 2008 Top Shelf Design Awards

East Dundee, IL -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/24/2009 -- Closet Organizing Systems, a leading provider of custom residential and commercial storage solutions, announced today that it won two of the nine 2008 Top Shelf Design Awards presented Feb. 27 at the CLOSETS & HOME ORGANIZATION CONFERENCE & EXPO in West Palm Beach, Fla. Closet Organizing Systems received its awards for melamine walk-in closet designs in two size categories: up to 18 linear feet and more than 18 linear feet.

Closet Organizing Systems’ winning entry for the smaller size award category is a “hers” walk-in closet designed in the Arts and Crafts style as part of a new home construction project. The closet was also featured in the 2007 Chicago Luxury Home Tour. Finished in a rich chocolate peartree melamine, the closet features a storage bench, mirror, hamper, ample shoe cubbies and stacked drawers for jewelry and accessories. Shaker doors and drawers, seedy glass, custom headers, decorative moulding and glass hardware complete the Arts and Crafts style to match the rest of the home.

In the larger size award category, Closet Organizing Systems’ winning entry is a “his” walk-in closet created by transforming a spare bedroom into a dressing room. The new space includes a variety of hanging and shelving options built at varying depths to organize the client’s custom-made wardrobe. Applied end panels, raised-panel cabinets, fluted columns, mouldings, crown trim and base trim unify the look in a cherry blossom melamine finish.

“Each of these award-winning closets demonstrates our designers’ exceptional ability to optimize storage space and enhance the aesthetic value of the home,” said Bill Curran Jr., president of Closet Organizing Systems. “We are committed to fulfilling all client requests, providing innovative design solutions and even working with exotic woods for the most discriminating homeowners. With several exciting new projects underway, we are already looking forward to next year’s Top Shelf Design Awards.”

CLOSETS magazine founded the Top Shelf Design Awards program in 2007 to honor innovative and aesthetically pleasing and functional residential closet and garage designs. Judges include leading industry peers from across the United States. All winning entries will be featured in the April 2008 issue of CLOSETS magazine.
