TheHolidayCottages.co.uk team take part to raise money for Cancer

Wells, Somerset -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/27/2009 -- For two years running, the team at TheHolidayCottages.co.uk have taken part in Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life at Millfield School in Street, Somerset in 2007 and 2008. They have also taken part in Run 10K at Longleat Safari Park in 2007 and 2008. This month they ran their 3rd Run 10K event and are well on their way to raising another £1000 for Cancer Research UK, an amazing charity which holds a special place in their hearts. Team Leader James Grant crossed the line in under 58 minutes, a record for the company, and he was followed closely by Peter Gatenby and his son Charles Gatenby who owns the company along with his wife Jo.

Each year they aim to raise more and more sponsorship money by getting all their family and friends to sponsor them, as well as sponsoring each other. For each event they have participated in they have raised around £1000, every single penny of which goes to Cancer Research UK to help fund its lifesaving research into cancer.

The Holiday Cottages team also raise money throughout the year by selling cakes to the local company’s, dressing up for work on Valentines Day and Halloween, and also by buying clothing from the charity shops in the town and selling it to each other to raise even more money!
