Travelmedia Launches Introduction to Travel and Tourism Course in DVD and Distance Learning Editions for Classrooms, Libraries and Individuals

“Travel and Tourism: Opening Doors for Your Future” offers positive, comprehensive view of the industry for students and career-changers

Mill Valley, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/02/2009 -- Travelmedia announced today the release of DVD and e-Learning editions of "Travel and Tourism: Opening Doors for Your Future” (http://learntravelandtourism.com), an interactive course that introduces the Travel and Tourism industry as a serious career path to high school or entry-level college students, people who are about to enter the workforce or those who may be seeking a new career. The course is both educational and motivational, loaded with timely information about how vast and important the travel industry is, its history, sustainable tourism, future trends, its various sectors and how they work together, and the wide variety of career opportunities it offers.

“Travel and Tourism: Opening Doors to Your Future” is the successor to the 1994 “World of Many Faces” video and workbook, which have been used in universities, schools and companies around the world.

Library/Personal Edition

The Library/Personal Edition, available on DVD and priced at US$90, includes the same content as the US$280 Academic Edition released earlier this year, but without interactive study questions and customizable instructor's module. The Library/Personal Edition is designed as an affordable self-paced learning program, available to students through libraries, and for teachers who can use its ten modules as audio visual aids to supplement their own classes.

“We are now providing the DVD edition in response to many calls from librarians who want to offer a lower-priced version of our program for personal or individual student use without the customizable teaching tools of the Academic Edition,” says Russell Johnson, president of Travelmedia.

e-Learning Edition
The e-Learning Edition, available on the Web in high definition Flash video, offers the same content as the Library/Personal Edition plus a Testing Center, where students can challenge their knowledge. It is available online for US$35.

“Because of its international appeal and relevance, we now are extending the availability of the program in an e-Learning format. Unlike typical static text and graphics-based programs, ours features highly-motivational videos photographed around the world” Johnson added.
All versions have been updated and expanded for 2009-10 with new statistics, information and trends and are updated regularly.

Custom educational program development
Travelmedia offers development of custom programs, based on its e-Learning template for countries, industry sectors and companies in many languages.
