Fort Lauderdale, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/30/2009 -- Sky Limo Corporation, a full service aviation company headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, partnered with The Abaco Club, a Ritz-Carlton Managed Club in the Bahamas, to donate a privately chartered flight and 3-night trip at the 17th Annual Hollywood Welcomes The Stars charity auction to benefit The Marti Huizenga Boys & Girls Club, Hollywood Unit. This years’ event was hosted at The Westin Diplomat Country Club Resort & Spa on the evening of October 22nd.

“Sky Limo believes that during these trying times all companies should participate in reaching out and giving back to the community. We chose to partner with certain charities in Broward County, such as The Marti Huizenga Boys & Girls Club, because of the strong sense of leadership they instill in the community,” says Sky Limo President, Tom Conlan. “It’s an honor partnering with such a prestigious organization as the Ritz-Carlton for a noteworthy cause,” adds Conlan.

The star-studded event featured appearances by Marti & Wayne Huizenga, along with other celebrities including: John Ratzenberger (Cheers); Davy Jones (member of The Monkees); Dawn Wells (Gilligan's Island); Dennis Cole (Charlie's Angels, The Love Boat); and former Miami Dolphins players Jeff Cross, Shawn Wooden, and Troy Drayton. Tickets sold for $500 per person and corporate sponsorship donations started at $2,500 with all proceeds contributed to the charity. The trip donated by Sky Limo Air Charter and The Abaco Club raised $6,000 at the auction and was the feature item of the night.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County joined the national Boys & Girls Clubs organization in 1965 and have grown along with the movement. They now have 12 facilities with a membership of over 13,000 youth. The purpose of the Club is to help young people ages 7-17 improve their lives by building self-esteem and developing values and skills during their critical period of growth. The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs is to assure and to enhance the quality of life for children as participating members of a diverse urban society.
