Gaithersburg, MD -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/04/2009 -- Coester Appraisal Group a nationwide appraisal company announced today it added “all active” certified appraisers to its national database in an effort to ensure they have all available resources for their clients. The move which was in apart due to the recent controversy surrounding claims regarding appraisal companies not using local appraisers to do the appraisals would put Coester at a tremendous advantage as it would leave no doubt they would have all options available in every market.

Coester Appraisal Group operations manager Frank Novak was quoted as saying “having the ability to have all appraisers at our fingertips lets us and our clients know that we have the best options available for every appraisal. We already have full coverage nationally however being able to fill any potential gaps will ensure the most competent local appraiser is assigned to every order, which is our goal”. The project which only took 1 week to complete added about 130,000 appraisers to Coester’s already large 22,000 vendor roster.

This move which was looked as a stepping stone for the firms large plans to be the country’s premier source for valuations. The firm only added certified general and certified residential appraisers to its list due to increased education requirements for certified appraisers as well as FHA and most lenders requiring appraisers to be certified. Task Force Manager Jerry White was quoted as saying “when FHA announced only using certified appraisers we thought it was a good idea to follow suit. A certified appraiser has gone through much more educational requirements and typically produces a better product. We work with a core group of appraisers and want to have the ability to use them for all residential appraisal assignments which with a certified appraiser we can do”.

The announcement came just in time as FHA is set to adopt similar guidelines to the HVCC and having the ability to have all appraisers that are certified in the entire nation leaves no doubt that they will have the ability to find the best appraisal for the job regardless of where the property is.
