MCM’s Facelift for 2010 Has People Talking

To say that Matt Connolly Motorsports is making changes is a massive understatement. The team is sporting new colors, new sponsors, new drivers, and oh yeah, a new car with a new partner.

Atlanta, GA -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/28/2010 -- MCM certainly has upped its game for the 2010 Grand Am Rolex GT season which kicks off this weekend with the famed Rolex 24 hours of Daytona.

The new white, blue and orange livery is tied to the teams new sponsor partner in A2Z Racergear which designs and manufactures race related apparel, shoes and accessories. Founded by racing legend Tony “A2Z” Adamowicz, their emphasis has been historic racing and racing legends. They are licensed by the likes of Carol Shelby, Ford Mustang, Steve McQueen, Sir Stirling Moss and many more. Many of their products include original art by Nicolas Hunziker Automotive Fine Arts, who is a licensed driver in his own right and the grand nephew of Maserati great Prince Bira. This spring, A2Z Racergear will be introducing a new line of SFI/FIA 3-ply Nomex suits and shoes that will recapture the flavor of “the days”. Sporting that new livery will be the addition of a Chevy Corvette C6 and will be entered in as MCM-Black Flag Racing. The Corvette will host an impressive lineup of drivers coming together for the first time in Sean Breslin and Sean Paul Breslin of Ireland, Diego Romanini and Riccardo Romagnoli of Italy and American Jason Vinkemulder. The #19 entry is backed by sponsors Mitra, Gruppo Sipro, Cattier Champagne, ADROC Productions, AIS Media, and P1 Groupe.

Back for 2010 is the Porsche 997 boasting a lineup that is as impressive as any in the GT Class. Drivers for the #20 Porsche entry are Oskar Slingerland of Monaco, Markus Palttalla of Belgium, Jos Menten of Holland and Christophe Lapierre of France. Making this all possible was the assembly of an equally impressive lineup of sponsors in Bischoff + Scheck Service GmbH, OFI Asset Management, Avra Towage, Voskamp Groep, North Sea Petroleum, Jos Menten Metaalrecycling, and P1 Groupe.

Rounding out the lineup for MCM at Daytona will be the familiar #21 Pontiac GTO-R. Also assembled together for the first time is a combination of youthful exuberance with tried and true experience in endurance racing. Jim Briody of Arizona is making his 51st 24-hour endurance race; Gabrio Rosa is close behind in making his 34th 24-hour endurance event start. They are joined by sports car veteran Spencer Trenery of California and Rolex 24 hours of Daytona newcomer Tomas Steuer of Colombia. The #21 entry is supported by sponsors A2Z Racergear, GTO Association of America, Rofinco, Rosa & Co., AIS Media and P1 Groupe.

Team owner Matt Connolly and his entire MCM team would like to thank all the sponsors that have come on board and allowed a first rate effort from top to bottom in this 2010 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona!
