Disappointment for Many University Applicant

Hong Kong -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/23/2010 -- Students hoping to start university this September are likely to face worries over the security of their place.

It has been widely estimated that up to 200,000 applicants may not get a place this autumn due to capped numbers.

Lord Mandelson, The Universities Secretary has said that getting into university had always been a competitive business and that the cap on numbers would remain.

RDI offer UK university courses by distance learning meaning that not getting into university may not be the huge disappointment expected. Distance learning also means that students can work as they study - giving them valuable work experience ready to equip them for life after graduation.

Currently over 5,000 students are studying their degree or MBA by distance learning with RDI. Online study allows students to access their materials in their own time through an interactive campus – ilearn. They offer qualifications in 12 subjects from 9 UK universities, including the University of Bradford, University of Wales and and Teesside University.

Dr Philip Hallam, CEO of RDI comments:
"The vast majority of our students work while they learn, applying what they learn on a daily basis, advancing their career throughout their studies"
