New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/24/2010 -- Canada’s most prominent and forward-thinking designer, Marie Saint Pierre, will be exhibiting her collection for Fall 2010 at ENK’s Coterie from February 21st to 23rd 2010. The designer will make an appearance at her Booth No 9541 to personally meet with buyers and press.

Marie will unveil her NEW collection officially to the press during Montreal Fashion Week. Her fashion show is set for March 1st 2010.

The designer has been showing at the runway shows during fashion week in Paris (Canadian Embassy Cultural Center), New York (Bryant Park, Fall 1997) and, of course, Montréal and Toronto for more than 20 years.

About Marie Saint Pierre
Marie Saint Pierre is a rare maverick in the world of fashion. She does not conform to trends. She likes to draw inspiration from everything that surrounds her. From concentrating on accurate shapes and values to exploring expressive lines and atmospheric tones, “there are infinite possibilities as to how you can see something, whether it is static or in movement, seen from the heights or looked at from the bottom or the side. These angles are a source of emotion and they can change your perceptions” she says.

Her Fall 2010 Collection is inspired by modern art giving the collection a totally urban modern look. With a fusion of art and design, Marie Saint Pierre breaks out into the fashion scene with pieces of wearable art.

"I like my clothes to be adaptable," says Marie Saint Pierre. The result is a wearability that extends beyond one season or one trend. Fabrics are folded, pleated, sculpted and fused.

PATRICK PEPIN - THE OTHER DESIGNER
Patrick Pepin has been working as a designer next to Marie Saint Pierre for 17 years. He studied Fashion Design at Lasalle College and after moved to Paris where he worked for Louis Feraud Haute Couture. Upon his return, he started working for Marie saint Pierre and has been working with her ever since. For Patrick working for Marie represents freedom. He loves to design modern, multi-functional clothes. "Marie, she a creative person, very modern and grounded. We usually do not have to talk to work together….we have the same taste" he says. Patrick was one of the six finalists for Dubonnet Design contest and won the first price for fur accessories in Canada. When asked about his future plans, Patrick admits that he would like to design more shoes, accessories and furniture.

MARIE SAINT PIERRE WEDDING
Marie Saint Pierre Wedding was launched in December 2009. Marie designed 40 wedding-themed dresses that immediately impressed Canadian Buyers. The line was exhibited at the Salon de la Mariẻe Tradeshow in Montreal. Known for her sophisticated and modern style, Marie designed timeless dresses that appeal to a wide variety of couture conscious brides. The big surprise is that the dresses come with full length slips allowing many different bustier combinations.

"It all began with a dress and a passion for beautiful, well-designed garments that speak to elegance, refinement, and style" says Marie. Her love and knowledge of fashion, dress making and design have all culminated in the ultimate fashion experience for any woman – the wedding gown

LE GERMAIN - MONTREAL
The philosophy behind Marie’s work has attracted a lot of followers. Le Germain, a chain of chic boutique hotels located all over Canada, chose Marie Saint Pierre to craft an exclusive bedding and décor line for the 10th Year anniversary of their Montréal hotel. Marie created the “Germain Comfort Collection” for the 150 rooms of the posh hotel. The collection includes Italian bed linens, pillows, bed covers as well as lampshades all designed by Marie Saint Pierre. The hotel’s distinguished clients are now offered the opportunity to get the luxurious items for their home online. Loyal to the vision of Marie Saint Pierre, each item is supple, subtle and refined.

SPECIAL PROJECTS
Marie was a judge on the French adaptation of Project Runway called “La Collection” (for 10 episodes). The first season of the show was a huge success and Marie was invited to be a permanent judge again this upcoming season.

She was also a guest judge on episode 7 for Project Runway Canada, where she had to pick one dress amongst six others that were entirely made of Post-its. The winning dress was then auctioned off, with all the proceeds going toward The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

Apart from being recognized as one of the most creative and forward thinking Canadian designers, Marie Saint Pierre is also committed to being an advocate for women and children. She has been organizing various benefit fashion shows for women victims of domestic violence. In 2004, she created the “Sous Zéro” fund, which has distributed warm winter clothing to over 1,000 underprivileged children across Montréal.

FUTURE PLANS
It seems that Marie Saint Pierre has the same view as Patrick Pepin when it comes to expanding her brand. “I am at a point in my career where I have to focus on the next ten years and decide what are going to be the next steps, there are a lot of opportunities for us to develop new markets and expand our notoriety, maybe opening some flag stores in cities like New York, Los Angeles, Moscow, Shanghai orParis.”

Marie is also in the process of developing and launching her own perfume line. The line is already expected to be a great success.
