Katy Spink, Vice President of Operations for Geron, will give the Featured presentation at GTCbio’s 6th Stem Cell Research & Therapeutics Conference, May 27-28, 2010 in Boston, MA.

 

Monrovia, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/12/2010 -- Katy Spink, Vice President of Operations for Geron, will give the Featured address entitled “GRNCM1: Human Embryonic Stem Cell Derived Cardiomyocytes for the Treatment of Heart Failure” at GTCbio’s 6th Annual Stem Cell Research & Therapeutics Conference on May 27-28, 2010 in Boston, MA.

Dr. Spink will discuss Geron’s GRNCM1 program, in which they are developing hESC-derived cardiomyocytes for the treatment of heart failure, including methods for high efficiency differentiation of cardiomyocytes from hESCs, characterization of the resulting cell population, preclinical data on cellular function, and next steps for the development of this product towards the clinic
