Gurgaon, Haryana -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/25/2010 -- WIRELESS OPERATOR Sprint has unveiled its new WiMax handset, the HTC EVO 4G, which has a 720p video, two cameras and 4.3 inch screen. The handset is based on Google Android 2.1 platform and will be available this summer. The phone is a promising delight for those who love to make video calls, with 1.3 mega pixel camera in the front, apart from an eight mega pixel camera at the back.

The Sprint handset, HTC EVO 4G, has an LCD screen, built in mobile hotspot functionality with a user able to use as many as eight Wi-Fi devices linked to it. It also allows users to compose text messages by speaking them out, with a voice to text feature, apart from other smartphone features.

The HTC EVO 4G features Qualcomm's 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, 1 GB built-in memory, 512 MB RAM, Wi-Fi 11b/g and 8 GB microSD card. With 3G and 4G capability, it allows downloads at peak speeds of 10 Mbps (4G) and 3.1 Mpbs (3G). There are also Google mobile services including Google Search, Google Maps, Google Talk, Gmail, YouTube and Google Calendar sync.

The Sprint smartphone also has an updated version of HTC Sense, which includes Friend Stream to integrate Facebook and Twitter updates, visual voicemail, Live video sharing with Qik, inbuilt kickstand, media player with 3.5mm stereo headset jack, FM radio and Amazon MP3 store and NASCAR Sprint Cup mobile. There is also inbuilt Wi-Fi, Digital compass, G-Sensor, proximity sensor and light sensor.

Dan Hesse, CEO, Sprint said, "Not only is this feature-rich device incredible on our Sprint 3G network, but Sprint 4G speeds will take mobile multimedia, including live video streaming, gaming and picture downloads to a whole new level."

The price for the HTC EVO 4G will be unveiled by Sprint when it is launched in the market.
