Live Interactive Parenting Webinar Announcement

‘Creating Rules That Kids Follow’

Surprise, AZ -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/01/2010 -- Rules are the cinderblock of effective and successful child behavior management. Child discipline cannot adequately be implemented or enforced if effective rules are not first established. Rules define behavioral expectations in every setting whether it is home, school, or the community. Rules help prepare children to obey laws in our society. Rules are supposed to encourage behavior change. However, oftentimes rules are developed in such a way that they subsequently discourage compliance and promote defiance. We need to understand and be aware of the characteristics of rule setting so that we create rules that promote compliance, not defiance.

This webinar explores:

• The importance of rule setting,
• The identification and understanding of specific rule setting characteristics, and
• How to develop rules that kids will follow.

At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will have developed an effective list of rules for their home, classroom, or any other setting.

The presenter is Mark Lakewood, CEO of Building Strong Families National Seminars, a distinguished parenting expert, author, and speaker with over 20 years of clinical experience as a mental health therapist. Mr. Lakewood has an extensive history providing therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults. Several years ago, he developed and facilitated an effective parenting program for parents of strong-willed children that gained local recognition. This program taught parents strategies and techniques to help them effectively manage their children's behavior. Based on this program, Mr. Lakewood later created the Sudden Compliance Program and is currently offering it as a DVD/downloadable video series and as a webinar series.

The cost to attend this webinar is only $9.95.

This webinar is presently scheduled for Tuesday, April 20th, 2010 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM (Mountain Time). There are additional dates/times to select from. If the scheduled days/times are inconvenient, participants can schedule this live webinar to be presented on a day/time most convenient to them.
