Cairo, Egypt -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/13/2010 -- Travco Group partook in the ITB 2010, the world’s largest tourism convention, which took place from the 10th to the 13th of March at the fairgrounds of Messe Berlin.
ITB, the world’s leading international trade fair marks a meeting point, market place, and a driving force for the hotel and tourism industry. It’s also considered the ideal venue for Travco Group to reinforce its relationships with industry partners and work in tandem with them to gain more global exposure. Moreover, it provides fresh impetus and a basis for the development of new ideas for global thinking and global oriented- actions.
During the convention, Travco Group showcased its new projects in Egypt’s most sought after destinations, in addition to Chateau Lafayette which set sail on the Nile in summer of 2009, and the two newly launched 5- star deluxe Nile cruise ships Jaz Minerva and Jaz Legacy. The attendance from Travco Group included Mr. Hamed El Chiaty, Chairman & CEO of Travco Group, and representing Travco Travel were Mrs. Amani El Torgoman, general manager and director of operations, and Mr. Khaled Koraa, director of international sales, Ms. Nelly Fahmy, director of sales Travcotels, as well as Mr. Karim El Chiaty, director of business development, and Mrs. Dora El Chiaty, director of interior design department and member of the board, to name a few.
Jaz Hotels, Resorts & Cruises, Travco Group’s hospitality company, shed light on its new projects in Egypt, namely Jaz Little Venice Golf Resort in Ain Sokhna, Sol Y Mar Sharks Bay, Sol Y Mar Naama Bay and Iberotel Il Mercato in Sharm El Sheikh, Iberotel Makadi Palms and Iberotel Aquamarine Resort in Hurghada, Sol Y Mar Dolphin House in Marsa Alam, Jaz Crystal Resort and Jaz Oriental Resort in Almaza Bay North Coast, and Iberotel Aswan. The company also unveiled several new projects that are due to launch this year. Commenting on the convention, Ms Nelly Fahmy stated “the event was an opportunity to meet with tour operators from around the world and update them on Travco’s new programs. Moreover, it was also a chance to meet with new tour operators to propose new business ventures. Overall, it was a very successful event”.

Mr. Osama Bushra, Chief Operating Officer of Travco Dubai took great initiative and seized this prestigious event to recognize and appreciate the great mutual support of a number of leading hotels in the UAE during the year 2009; by presenting them with Travco recognition accolades, Mr. Bushra stated that this annual event was certainly a huge platform where Travco Dubai showcased its expertise in the tourism business in the region with its customary participation with DTCM which has been amazingly innovative with its marketing trends annually.
During the fair, participants expressed their interest in Egypt, and particularly sea-side destinations. With more than 180,000 visitors, among them 108,000 trade visitors, over 10,000 exhibitors from 180 countries at the ITB Berlin were positive about the commercial success of their involvement as well as being very satisfied with the progress of this event.
