Major Players: Finding the Very Best Candidates for Creative Industry Jobs

London, UK -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/14/2010 -- Major Players, the UK’s leading creative and marketing recruiter today re-affirmed its commitment to supplying the industry with top talent through the release of rigorous new guidelines for compliancy and candidate screening.

CEO Jack Gratton said: “The checks we have in place are focused on making sure we’re compliant with Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations, Asylum and Immigration legislation, and Data Protection guidelines.”

He added, “This not only protects our clients from potential legal problems, but we’re proud to say that as a result of our thorough vetting procedures, an industry-topping* 8 out of 10 candidates placed by us in Marketing jobs, Creative, Research & Insight and PR jobs make long term commitments to their employers.”

The following standard checks performed on each and every candidate:

• Face to Face Interviews: Each and every candidate is interviewed by Major Players prior to them ever being put forward for a job in the creative industry. A specialist consultant conducts the interview, identifying what the candidate wants from their career, their aspirations and background, their reason for seeking work, as well as their technical experience and interest in the role and organisation.

• Qualification Check: Where a qualification is necessary or essential for the role, the company requires original documentation to be provided at the interview stage which is then scanned and uploaded to the system.

• Referencing: Each candidate is required to provide reference points for organisations they have worked with in the last two years. Those applying for creative and design jobs are required to provide examples of their portfolio during the interview. Major Players utilises a comprehensive reference template which investigates competencies and performance of the candidate, which is sent to nominated reference points. Companies are verified for their authenticity. Psychometric profiling and competency testing can also be performed if required.

• Right to Work in the UK: All candidates must provide original documentation at interview which allows Major Players to verify their right to work in the UK. This might include the need for a valid working VISA.

• Photo Identification Check: Photo identification, such as a passport, is required at the interview stage. These are scanned, signed and dated by the consultant for the company’s records.

Without performing these primary checks, Major Players will not submit an individual for a client interview. Karine Lionnet, head of recruitment for creative services, project management, production and design jobs said, “This meticulous screening process takes the hard work out of recruitment for our clients and ensures that our candidate pool is made up of only the industry’s best talent. It’s all part of the reason why so many of our clients keep us on their Preferred Supplier List.”
