EmploymentCrossing Lists 725,500 Jobs in a Week; Employment Costs Rise in Q1

Pasadena, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/10/2010 -- Employment costs in the United States managed to rise somewhat more that what was expected in the first quarter mostly boosted by benefits that swelled to the biggest jump in almost three years, according to the Labor Department data recently revealed.

The Employment Cost Index rose about 0.6 percent with respect to the first three months of the year, just above the previous quarter's rise of 0.4 percent. Salaries and wages comprised of 70 percent of compensation costs and rose about 0.4 percent. Benefits increased by about 1.1 percent. This is the biggest recorded gain since 2007 second quarter according to a Labor Department official. “There was slight rise in the employment costs, but specifically, the US manufacturing industry, grew for the ninth consecutive month in April, at the fastest pace not witnessed in the last six years. This certainly points to a quickening economic recovery for the sector.” says A. Harrison Barnes, CEO of EmploymentCrossing.

Elsewhere, the BIO/Battelle State Biosciences Initiatives report was issued which indicated that the total employment in the bioscience sector in the US has crossed 1.42 million along with 6.5 million biotech-supportive jobs.”

EmploymentCrossing, one of the largest job boards in the world, has managed to create a record of sorts by listing more than 725,500 jobs in its database in a single week! It has literally scoured jobs from thousands of other job boards and employer websites and aggregated them in a single database.

Barnes adds, “There has been a boom in the number of jobs but no job board seems to post more jobs nowadays. The prime reason for this is because most of the jobs are present on employer websites. EmploymentCrossing uses a highly trained research staff and technology to track down every job from every employer. The site continuously monitors the websites of every job board and employer website to provide job seekers with quality jobs that match their interests.”

“With a highly trained team of researchers who personally screen each and every job posted on EmploymentCrossing’s portals, EmploymentCrossing seeks out, edits, approves, and tracks an elite collection of jobs on an ongoing basis,” Barnes says. “EmploymentCrossing is not for everyone -- we are exclusive and private, and only members have access to our job-opening research.”

Unlike other job boards that simply herd masses of job listings without looking back, EmploymentCrossing ensures quality and accuracy to prevent users from wasting time with outdated or filled jobs. The site’s research staff searches nearly 8,000 job boards and around 250,000 employer websites for jobs every day. Additionally, the number of jobs on the site is expected to receive a major boost in the coming days.
