SMS Banks on Its Strong Alumni Association

 

Varanasi, U.P -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/26/2010 -- SMS Alumni Association (SAAG) is established to provide an active institutional framework for professional development, interaction and networking for the holistic development of alumni association of SMS.

All students who successfully complete the UG and PG Programs of SMS are eligible for membership in SMS Alumni Association (SAAG). Several of the members of this association today works in different Domestic and multinational Companies in middle and top level management. Even some have stepped into higher education and research works. With SMS alumni pursuing careers in the corporate world in various locations in Asia-Pacific, Australia, USA, Europe and Middle East, SMS alumni Association (SAAG) now has a global presence.

SMS Alumni Association (SAAG) facilitates networking among alumni by organizing alumni reunions, batch meets and other related activities. It also assists alumni in lateral career movement and career development. SMS Alumni Association (SAAG) tries to create opportunities where alumni can interact with current SMS students.

SMS Alumni Association (SAAG) has developed two chapters. One at Mumbai and other at Delhi, taking care of the respective locale of the former students of SMS, with one distinct head office at Varanasi.

The mode followed in all these exercise are described as pre-placement, summer placement and final placement.The pre placement talks provide a valuable opportunity to our students to have an interaction with the corporate representative. Through this process, they come to know about the company offerings including expected job profile, job locations, salary components and the probable career growth paths available. Companies give a brief presentation, followed by the Q&A session of students.

Students are required to undergo summer training for 6-8 weeks after completing the second semester. The process starts with interaction with different organizations of repute who select management graduates from premier / reputed management institutions regularly. We maintain a database of the organizations where our students had been/can be placed for summer training. Further, every year we progressively add the names of other organizations that are interested in allowing our students to undertake summer training in their organizations.

Institute endeavor is to ensure as best placement as possible for all out-going students. This is an extremely important activity of the institution as its brand image depends, to quite an appreciable extent, on the quality of placement. Good placement not only enhances the reputation of the institution, it also infuses a high degree of confidence in the students at the time of joining.

The process commences with interaction with different organizations of repute who appoint management graduates from premier / reputed management institutions regularly. SMS maintain a database of the organizations where our students had been placed earlier and update information on a continuous basis.
